Have a Question?
Repair, Cleaning, Resizing, Retipping and Restoration
We can repair nearly anything you bring us.
Jewelry, memorabilia, heirlooms, antiques, and just about anything else can be repaired or cleaned - and usually it's ready the next day.
All repairs are done on-site behind 47 feet of glass so your items never leave the store. This helps speed up the repair process. Yes, other jewelers offer same-day repair work but it's often because they send their repairs to Tucker's.
Want to avoid the extra step?
In case your item needs to have a sleep-over, it'll have a nice cozy and safe bed behind 47-feet of glass and a really thick wall of steel - out of site from eyes and hands.
Resizing rings
Does your ring size need to go down or up? We can do either. Whether it's made from:
- Gold
- Platinum
- Silver
- Brass
- Steel - yes, even steel for those Civil Engineers
Your ring will be resized with the exact grade and type of metal with which it was originally made.
If you have a 14-karat white gold ring, 14-karat white gold will be used to alter the size of your ring. You'd be surprised how many times others use a lesser quality metal to save money when resizing. Not sure if that makes us a smart business. It doesn't matter - that's what we do.
"How much?"
To answer, we really need to see it in person, to see how it's constructed before we give you a quote. The price depends on:
- What you need done
- The condition of your item
- The construction of the ring is the most critical part
- What metals and materials need to be used
- How much the metal costs us based on the metals market
- How the ring is constructed
- How the gems are set
- How long we think it will take
To be fair to you, it's best we see jewelry in person.
Wish we could be more specific. It's the small things that make the difference and we want to make sure you get the right quote.
The process
The best thing to do is bring your item in to the store. In person, tell us what's wrong and what you want fixed. We'll take a good look at it and...
- Let you know what needs to be done for proper repair
- How much it will cost
- How long it will take - sometimes it may only take a day
- Ask what's the best way to contact you when it is ready
Need a rush on your repair (remember, most items are repaired the next day)? Let us know - we'll see what we can do. We'll even drop it off at your place if you need - but you'll need to ask nicely ;-).
Appointments are not needed but are welcome
While appointments aren't necessary, set up an appointment to get in and get out as fast as possible. That way, we'll make sure someone is ready when you walk in the door.
